Rebecca has always been an intensely curious person, and her curiosity has gotten her into a great deal of trouble. She attended a quite prestigious medical academy, only to be barred from it when the head of staff objected to her experimenting on the dead. And the nearly dead. Being as how some prudes in the over-legal lands object to the advance of science, she made for the edges of civilisation, in order to seek out a place where she could continue her great quest for knowledge.
