[edit] Growing Up
Born in Gated Community from a high standing wealthy family. Always wanted to go on adventures and explore but was denied by my family and forced to study at home. Although reluctant I achieved high grades in the high school equivalent through parental intimidation. I possessed a secret collection of comic books featuring Captain Colonialism, Captain of the Universe! He was my hero and sparked a fascination with space and the extra terrestrial.

Had a very difficult time finding a focus in academic studies. He couldn't place his interests and balance his parent's pressure. He also took up horseback riding and learned to deal with animals associated with the upper class.
[edit] Moment of crisis
Received many unacceptable grades in my wildly diverse field of study. My parents were so embarrassed they hired a woman, Christya Desdemona Heyrdahl, to erase these records and I was forced to choose a Major. She and the family are the only ones who know of the incident and it is Preston’s most guarded secret.

[edit] Sidetracked
Foreign student (Derrick Phezir) was trying to disrupt more worthy Ariston Academics by redirecting their transport. I noticed the sabotage and tried to warn the captain but he would have none of it. The foolish foreigner got a bunch of crew killed and played hero after "saving the day." He was going to pin the whole thing on me so my family had to pay him off. This being the second such incident my father decided I had to learn the value of money and I got a job. I worked at the university's registrar's office and learned my lesson, as well as messing with the asshole's records if he ever decided to come back to school.

Got a graduated in Astronomy and spent a term working on an orbiting telescope, learned a lot about living and working in space. Got a job as a professor then quickly spent a term as Dean. After his term he felt like going back to work as a professor was a step backward so I decided I wanted to lead a research expedition and am now looking for a crew and researchers...
