Mythos
From UTRPG
Mythos is a supposedly intelligent but really incompetent arbiter from some not-quite-backwater imperial world. The inhabitants are known for their spates of reckless violence, which are inconsistent to say the least.
Mythos was reassigned under somewhat unfortunate circumstances far, far away from his initial posting. He tends to have an eye for his pocketbook and an insatiable lust for vengeance if wronged.
He is played by Prince.

[edit] Personality
Mythos is technologically backward, refusing to use anything more complicated than a shock maul or a hellpistol (and only because the latter has an obvious trigger). He even used a barbarian's shield at one point (after the barbarian had the temerity to almost defeat him in combat). Now he calls it his Shield of Koss after it was upgraded on Yassir and needs to find some spiky metal skulls to stick to it. He'd also like proper carapace armor, instead of this one-armed Guard getup he's been wearing.
Mythos is fiercely loyal to his friends and will go out of his way to keep them alive, even if he's wounded, they're under suspicion of being possessed by demons, etc. He shows much less consideration for other people, figuring as long as he's not inflicting permanent injuries on them the Emperor will take care of them. (And he's willing to sacrifice innocents "for the greater good" as long as they're not friends.)
He's very vengeful, and has gone out of his way to plan perennial thorn-in-the-side Rickards' demise. Alas, he's never able to complete this plan.
[edit] Combat
He is armed with an autopistol and a shock maul. He borrowed a hellpistol from Ephese, although she seems to want it back.
He's protected by his Shield of Koss and a suit of guard armor missing its right arm (from when Mythos blew said arm off of Rickards).
Over time, Mythos has drifted from being a gunman to being a melee specialist, using only his shock maul and shield in a recent pivotal battle. Between the nasty shock effect of a shock maul, Swift Attack and Crushing Blow, he's approaching Dameon Starke's mid-XP point of proficiency in combat, although his low toughness isn't a great help. Malboch is still a better melee specialist, who (despite his primitive background) is more willing to use some over-the-top weapon like a chainsword. Mythos is actually better at shooting than beating stuff, but that is likely to change with a small donation of XP.
[edit] Current Events
Mythos is in a strange mood.
It is bad, courtesy of:
- Finding out the Beast of Yassir is still alive. What does it take to kill that thing?
- Finding out Ephese has been hiding Epiphany, and currently being unable to do anything about it. Choosing between friends and vengeance is so difficult sometimes.
Mollified by:
- Spectacularly burning a tech-priest-soldier's face off.
- Killing the heretic.
- Getting out of that situation alive.
- Got his shield back. May warrior and shield never be parted.
- Executing Rickards! May his bits forever remain a pink mist.
