Lalali-Puy

Lalali-Puy, usually referred to as the Oba, is the witch goddess of Gulg. The people granted her that title herself.

She is revered as a kind-hearted environmentalist goddess and any citizen can get an audience with her, if they don't mind waiting a few years. The Oba takes a personal role in ruling her city. She spends most of the time in the "Paper Nest", where everyone must speak in an archaic form of the Common Language. Failure to do so usually results in death (or just mercy, where she merely rips out the offender's tongue). Either no one knows why she insists on this, or no one has survived her temper tantrum when they asked.
