Andropinis, usually referred to as "The Dictator", was elected the dictator perpetuus of Balic about 700 years ago, according to tradition. He neglected to inform the populace of his immortality until it had become obvious.
The Dictator claims to hate defiling, and when he uses magic publicly no scarring of the land is seen. He orders his people to be kind to Athas. On the other hand, he is still a brutal dictator.
The Dictator allows elections of templars, but sometimes makes "recommendations" about which templar should win an election. If the wrong one wins, they suffer some unfortunate accident and a new election is held.
The Dictator forms a special pact with his templars, the details of which are unknown.
