[edit] Background

[edit] Where did I come from?

Andrew was born into a political middle class family. However, Andrew wasn't interested in politics for its own sake, but just in making money. His fiery temper got him into trouble at McGill.

[edit] What shaped me?

While at McGill University, he tried to avoid joining his father's secret society, but for some reason, different societies kept seeking him out. Eventually he joined one, the Old Boys' Cult, affiliated with the Toronto Dragon (then the Montreal Dragon). Naturally this made him enemies of several other factions there. After a long ceremony, his Sponsored Magic first manifested.

[edit] Jagged Alliance

When a series of hostile takeovers strike Toronto Dragon businesses, Andrew searches for connections between the attackers. But will Andrew succeed when his opponents turn the tables on him, setting the Fraud Squad after him?

While in Quebec, both Bognar and Jeanie Guynes almost crossed paths with each other. Guynes set up a "wave" of the FLQ, a moderate French separatist group. They didn't have the violent motivation she was seeking. Meanwhile, Bognar used the group as cover as he firebombed his opponents' businesses; as a result, Guynes had inadvertently given him protection. Meanwhile, the "stock" of the FLQ skyrocketed, leading Guynes to believe they weren't such wimps after all.

Furthermore, the Montreal Dragon used the situation to its advantage. A record 52 "bombings" struck during this period, including a strike at McGill University and the Montreal Stock Exchange, the Dragon's HQ. (Although this strike was somehow turned to the Dragon's advantage, and it quickly moved to Toronto.)

It wasn't until years later, when Bognar and Guynes finally met and compared stories, that the truth came out for both of them.

[edit] Old Boys' Cult

The Toronto Dragon, believing (like many other faction leaders) that mild-mannered purely normal university student Eric Zhang was some sort of future badass, insisted that Bognar kidnap him and induct him into the cult. If only bureaucratic miscommunications hadn't struck, leaving Bognar with no real idea why he jumping the poor fellow. Well, the ability to breathe fire and therefore convince a recalcitrant human that surrender is the better option made the kidnapping part easy. With little idea of what else to do, he whisked Zhang to a cabin in the woods. Along the way, Zhang keenly observed that Bognar... had no clue what he was up to. He even gave him hints!

While trying to draw a good diagram in poorly prepared soil outside the cabin, the pair were spotted by a crazy mountain man. Seeing a human in trouble at the hands of a maniacal human who had sold his soul for power really made the mountain man simmer with rage. A fierce fight ensued, with Bognar setting himself afire... only to find the mountain man didn't care if his fingers were burning. At least until he lost his grip. Bognar realized it's really hard to win a fight if you don't know what you're fighting for. The mountain man, in turn, wasn't happy about what happened to his fingers. And his beard! The two combatants came to an uneasy truce.

Zhang was allowed to leave. The Toronto Dragon gave Bognar hell for that. Bognar figured he'd just talk Zhang into joining his cult. Good luck with that!
